Meet Thomas White DDS, FRCD(C)

Oral Surgeon in Kelowna, BC

Dr. Tom White was born in Toronto and grew up in a small city in Northern Ontario. He received his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Western Ontario in London Ontario. Tom graduated with honours and was the recipient of several awards. Following completion of dental school, Tom completed a two year general practice residency program at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Following completion of his GPR, Tom was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at McGill University in Montreal. During his residency, Tom was involved in several research projects involving dental implant treatment options for edentulous patients. After completion of his oral and maxillofacial training, Tom joined the staff at McGill University and the Montreal General Hospital an attending surgeon and associate professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

In 2006, Tom relocated to Kelowna BC, where he joined the practices of Dr. Russ Naito and Dr. Richard Bell and together they formed Okanagan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates with a clinic in Kelowna as well as Vernon in order to provide full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery to the Okanagan Valley.

Tom has continued to maintain an interest in dental implant therapy, specifically in the management of complex maxillofacial cases requiring extensive reconstruction. Tom is proud to be recognized as one of the clinicians in the only clinic in the Okanagan recognized as an All-On-4 Treatment Center of Excellence for complex dental implant treatment. He also practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and has maintained active privileges at the Kelowna General Hospital for over 15 years. An important part of Tom’s Vernon practice is providing services to those with difficulty with access to care.

When Tom is not in the office, he enjoys spending his time on or near the lake or a pool. He also enjoys cooking, barbecuing and gardening. During the winters, Tom is an active member of the Kelowna minor hockey community.
